Erin is another of our friendly Community Assistants. Erin is Tauranga born, bred and proud to live in the most beautiful city on earth. She is passionate about community initiatives and the environment. When she's not cycling around the city on her beloved bicycle, she can be found baking or chicken wrangling.
We sat down with Erin to find out more about what makes her happy...
As a young girl growing up in Tauranga, what job did you want to have when you were older?
I wanted to be a nurse, but a few years later decided it was not the career for me as I didn’t like the sensible shoes you had to wear.
If you had to pick three words to describe yourself, what would they be?
Loyal, honest, family-oriented (the dash makes it one word).
Do you have an odd talent you can share with us?
Yes. I have the unique ability to make major decisions without a problem, but getting completely stressed about what to choose off a menu - any menu.
What has been your greatest personal achievement to date?
That’s easy! My greatest achievement is our three daughters - it’s been a joy and a privilege to watch them grow from tiny helpless little souls into the awesome young women they are today with their own hopes, dreams, goals and life paths.
If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Hmmm …Folk’s Friday donuts … or toast …
What do you enjoy most about being at Basestation?
I love that every day is different.
What’s your favourite inspirational quote?
“You say it best when you say nothing at all” (Ronan Keating)
What would you like to be better at doing?
See above "odd fact".
Who do you look up to and why?
Sir David Attenborough - the OG environmentalist.
