In June, Basestation hosted the regional pitch sessions for 21 schools competing in the BOP 2024 YES programme.
One of the ways Basestation supports local causes is by offering our space to groups for free or at a discounted rate.
In June YES ran its first round of pitches for the 2024 cohort of students taking part in the BOP scheme. Small groups of students came to Basestation with their teachers to deliver a 10 minute pitch to a panel of judges. From this, 6 teams would go through to the finals in the regional rounds, and one will be picked to go to the nationals.
YES is a great opportunity for rangatahi to flex their muscles at running a small business, the judges involved this year were all impressed with the quality of ideas and professionalism at pitching.
